Evolving Novel Strategies for Management of Mantle Cell Lymphoma
Dr. Ruan is an Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine in the Division of Hematology and Medical Oncology at Weill Cornell Medical College and New York Presbyterian Hospital in New York City. She specializes in the treatment of lymphoma. Dr. Ruan received comprehensive training in medicine and immunology leading to combined MD-PhD degrees from the Tri-Institutional Medical Scientist Training Program of Cornell University, the Rockefeller University and Sloan-Kettering Cancer Institute. She completed residency in internal medicine and fellow ship in hematology/oncology at the Stanford University Medical Center and New York Presbyterian Hospital before joining faculty at Weill Cornell Medical College. Dr. Ruan leads clinical and translational research aimed at development of novel therapeutics targeting tumor microenvironment and tumor immunology in lymphoma subtypes including mantle cell lymphoma, peripheral T-cell lymphoma and diffuse large B-cell lymphoma. She is an active member of the American Society of Hematology, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, the cooperative intergroup ALLIANCE, and the Lymphoma Research Foundation MCL Research Consortium. Her research efforts have been recognized and supported by research funding from the Lymphoma Research Foundation, the ASCO Foundation, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, and the National Institute of Health. Dr. Ruan has published numerous articles in leading research journals including the Journal of Biological Chemistry, Journal of Experimental Medicine, PNAS, Blood, Annals of Oncology, Cancer, the Journal of Clinical Oncology and the New England Journal of Medicine. She is the recipient of the Clinical Research Forum TOP 10 Clinical Research Achievement. Award in 2016.
